When the Town of Orange Park needed assistance to construct wastewater improvements at the Ash Street WWTP, Legacy Civil Engineer was pleased to undertake this challenge for its friends in the Municipal Utility business.

This project presented enormous challenges: a long-standing, FDEP Consent Order on the verge on non-compliance; nutrient effluent 40% greater than permit limits; existing dilapidated treatment infrastructure; a land-locked site too-small by modern standards to support all the treatment functions; no money and the looming Great Recssion; and a project which had been designed at least five times by different engineering companies. What's not to like about a project like that?

Legacy Civil Engineers is very proud of every agency, consultant, contractor, and vendor who participated in this undertaking. The result of the collective effort is an innovative, cost-effective, durable, and extremely efficient system that exceeds every environmental standard today, and sets a high bar for other utilities to follow.

At Legacy Civil Engineers we are also very proud of the Orange Park Town Council and Town staff for their immense patience with the process of delivering this project and their willingness to innovate in under very difficult circumstances.
